Ever wonder how your favorite nutritional products go from an idea to something you can actually hold, taste, and benefit from? That journey begins with a dedicated team of research and development (R&D) professionals—scientists who blend innovation with precision to bring health-forward products to life. Among them is the Scientist II, a vital role that sits at the crossroads of science, wellness, and real-world impact.
As a Scientist in R&D Nutritionals, you’ll play a hands-on role in creating products

that people trust to support their health every day. Whether it’s a gummy vitamin, a powdered supplement, or a capsule packed with nutrients, you’ll be involved from the early concept stage all the way through launch—and beyond. Your job is to ensure that what is developed in the lab can be reliably produced at a scale without sacrificing quality, safety, or efficacy.
You’ll begin by translating consumer needs into product ideas, working alongside nutrition scientists and marketing teams to define what the product should look, taste, and feel like. From there, you’ll collaborate with external manufacturers and vendors to create prototype formulas—refining everything from taste and texture to visual appeal. Getting it “just right” means managing both the science and the sensory experience.

Scaling up is where your technical expertise really shines. You'll lead the process of transferring lab formulations into full-scale production, establishing protocols and testing methods to ensure consistency at every level. And when unexpected technical challenges arise—as they often do—you’ll be the one in troubleshooting and problem-solving to keep things moving forward.
This role thrives on collaboration. You’ll partner with teams in Packaging, Quality, Microbiology, Toxicology, Marketing, and more, ensuring that every element of the product aligns with the bigger picture. Attention to detail is crucial, especially when it comes to documenting your work and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. After all, these records pave the way for regulatory approval and, ultimately, consumer trust.
In short, this is more than a lab job—it’s an opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and to help create products that truly make a difference in people’s lives. R&D scientists are crucial in transforming scientific research into real-world applications, making this an exciting field for those who are passionate about science and its practical applications.
